Effectively Investigating Cases Involving Juvenile Sex Trafficking
This training will address fundamental and critical components of investigations involving victims of sex trafficking, focusing primarily on juvenile victims. Participants will learn the specific techniques useful in investigations of this kind; including identifying and recovering victims, language common in the human trafficking world, and barriers which may result in the victim's reluctance to implicate and testify against his/her trafficker. Participants will also learn about venues where juvenile sex trafficking commonly occurs, and victim assistance resources suggested to assist victims in separating from their trafficker and returning to a life outside of trafficking. This training will provide participants with tools and skills to help overcome the challenges of these difficult investigations.
