Course Description

Building a Data-Driven Enterprise:

Using big data and analytics in business, health, science, technology, retail and entertainment will be a key differentiator for the organizations that succeed in this new digital wave.  MDI's forum educates and creates new opportunities for organizations of all shapes and sizes in understanding what big data can do for them now and in the future.  Big Data Dance - Building a Data-Driven Enterprise.

MDI's Big Data Dance Forum will feature multiple breakout sessions on the topic, a keynote speaker and a networking lunch. Registration is limited to the first 100 registrants.  Registration fee includes a continental breakfast, lunch and afternoon refreshments.

Keynote: Analytics of IoT: Considerations, Methods, Approaches 

Keynote Speaker: Thomas Hill, Ph.D. - Dr. Thomas Hill is the Executive Director for Analytics at Statistica, which is part of Quest Software's Information Management Group. Previously, he was Senior Vice President for Analytic Solutions for over 20 years at StatSoft responsible for building out the Statistica software into a leading analytics platform. StatSoft and the Statistica product were acquired by Dell in 2014, where Dr. Hill then served as Executive Director for Analytic Solutions. Dr. Hill was also a member of the University of Tulsa faculty from 1984 to 2009, where he conducted research in cognitive science and received numerous grants from the National Science Foundation, National Institute of Health, Center for Innovation Management, Electric Power Research Institute, and other institutions. Over the past 30 years, his teams have completed consulting projects with companies across various industries in the United States and internationally. Dr. Hill is the (co)author of several books including Practical Text Mining and Statistical Analysis for Non-Structured Text Data Applications (2012) and Practical Predictive Analytics and Decisioning Systems for Medicine (2014).
