Cold Case Statement Analysis -- KIT Levels One and Two Required

Course Description

This course covers analysis of written statements in two domains; the technical domain (the actual characteristics of word formation and use of space on the paper), and composition domain concerning actual word usage. It is based upon the simple principle that the same physical and verbal stress indicators of deception which occur when we speak a lie will also appear in a hand written statement. The student will learn a number of techniques to identify these stress indictors, and strategies for their implementation in the interrogation process. Students will bring written statements from current or past unsolved cases which will be analyzed during the conduct of the course. This "in class" process has consistently resulted in students identifying subjects in their investigation and returning home to solve the case.
